DIY: Christmas wreath with winter flowers as a centrepiece

For your table or your door
Kerstkrans met kaarsen
You could call it a ball of happiness, this brightly coloured Christmas wreath. Presented here as a centrepiece, with a nod to classic Christmas floral decorations. It can also be used as a Christmas wreath for your front door. Learn how to make it here!

You will need

  • Sustainable florist's foam or Spaghnum moss in a round, heaping shape
  • Your favourite flowers - we chose orchid, chrysanthemum, flame lily and tulip, among others
  • Branches from the Christmas tree
  • Optional: beautiful candles

How to make it

1

Water the foam or moss and let it drain.

2

Are you using candles? If so, place these first so you can work around them nicely.

3

Now you can poke the stems of the flowers into your shape. Make sure you have a good distribution of colour, shape and size. Play around with this! You can opt for a wreath with one type of flower or use a colour gradient; from soft pink to deep red.

4

Place the wreath on the table, possibly on top of a small bowl to elevate it. Light the candles and start the countdown. Is it Christmas yet?
