Caring for Viburnum
- Place Viburnum in a clean glass vase with clean water.
- Add cut flower food to the water for a longer vase life.
- Cut or trim the stems diagonally by 3-5cm with a sharp, clean knife.
- Regularly top the vase up with tap water.
- Do not place your Viburnum in a draught, in full sun, near a heater or next to the fruit bowl.

Colours and shapes
Viburnum flowers are soft pink or pure white and the plant has berries that birds adore. The leaves are a fresh green, with a beautiful sweet scent. Particularly pleasing is Viburnum opulus 'Roseum', whose flowers grow in a big round ball.
Symbolism
In prehistoric times, Viburnum had a practical use: the flower's long stems were used as shafts for arrowheads. Nowadays, the flower's symbolic meaning is pride. So if you want to congratulate somebody on their achievement, ask the local florist to create a bouquet with Viburnum.
Origin
Viburnums are shrubs or small trees that originate from Asia, North America, North Africa and Europe. The tropical variant occurs in South America, Indonesia and New Guinea, and there are some 230 different species in total. The Latin name Viburnum comes from ‘viere’, which means weaving or bending.
