Climbing plants enjoy some support

Clematis can climb to great heights. But what’s it going to climb on? With our DIY craft project you can make a climbing frame for this bloomer and other garden plants that aspire to higher things.

This DIY project kills three birds with one stone. You get rid of fallen branches from the garden, you create a stunning natural -looking climbing frame, and you get to spend some time working on your patio. And no, it really isn’t hard.

1

Sort the branches and lay them out in the order you want to use them. Cut two pieces of string slightly longer than the planned height of the rack. Wrap the string around a branch and tie a knot in it.

Use this method to attach the string to all the branches on both sides. Make sure that you keep roughly the same space between the branches on both sides. Create a loop from the string on the top branch for hanging up the frame.

Hang the frame off a fence, a wall or the partition wall on your balcony with a screw and rawlplug. Place climbing plants against it, such as Clematis, Grape or Bougainvillea. Reach for the sky!
