Good news — flower garlands and wreathes have received a contemporary update with the help of floral artist Yoko Negi. This talented stylist, who divides her time between the Netherlands and Japan, has shown us how to use dried flowers to create a beautiful work of art for the wall, window or door. And to makes these works of art extra fun: they fit perfectly with this season's style trend.
You will need
- Circle of straw (or one made of metal, or reeds)
- Wire or rope
- Different types of gypsophila
- Limonium
- Ruscus (also known as butcher's broom)
- Various dried grasses
- Ribbon
How to make it

Select the gypsophila, limonium you want to use, and add grasses and ruscus as foliage, which will create depth and body. You can buy all the ingredients pre-dried dried from a florist or you can purchase them fresh and then follow our instructions for drying the flowers yourself.

Arrange the flowers, grasses and ruscus on the wreath: cut the sprigs to the desired length and place them on the circle to assemble the wreath. Think of it like taking a photo or creating a painting: combine different textures and colours together to create a beautiful composition.

Once you are satisfied, secure everything in place by wrapping wire or rope around the flowers and circle, attaching the former to the latter.

When everything is properly secured, hang the garland in place with the ribbon.
