There are plenty of vases around, but what happens when you want that perfect bottle but in another colour, decorated in a different pattern – where do you find that? Nowhere! So it’s up to you to make a series of vases just the way you want them! Create an eye-catching feature for the windowsill, or pack your sideboard with fun variations.

You will need:

  • Tulips in your favourite colours
  • Empty bottles with a nice shape
  • Pieces of paper and fun fabrics (approx. A4 size)
  • White paint and brush
  • Waterproof wood glue
  • Scissors and something to protect your work surface

How to make it

Step 1.

Good preparation is half the job - more than half in this case. It’s particularly fun to create a group of bottles with different papers or fabrics, so get searching.  Found the perfect combination of fabric and paper? Then paint the whole bottle white.

Step 2.

Cut a wide strip of paper or fabric and stick it onto the bottle using wood glue (waterproof). Job done!

Step 3.

Fill the bottle with water and cut the tulip to a length where it still has enough rigidity.

For a change

You can opt for one type of flower, but you can also put all sorts of different flowers together in the various vases. The cheerier the better.
